This is the true story that happened to my daughter when she was a little girl. Orbs and a spirit in the mirror.
In my younger years, I worked in the home health industry. I specialized in death and dying. I saw many things the medical community called hallucinations, drug-induced visions ect, but I knew in my heart that was not the truth.
Here is one of my stories of seeing help come from the other side.
I will never forget a lady I took care of in her daughter and son-in-law’s home. The ladies name was Vivian. Vivian had Lou Gehrig’s disease, yet her mind was sharp, she was very present.
Vivian’s physical state was failing her; she struggled to swallow and would choke if she was not suctioned out regularly or if she laid flat in bed. Vivian was also no longer able to walk well and spent most of her time in bed.
One day I arrived at work. It was summer, and the sun was shining bright, filling Vivian’s room with its warmth. I found Vivian sitting up in bed, staring intently at the little dinette table she had in her mother-in-law suite.
I looked at Vivian and then looked in the direction of where Vivian was staring. I could not see anything, but I knew something was happening. I started scanning the room to see what I could pick up on.
I said good morning to Vivian and asked her what was she looking at? Vivian became very indignant, and She said, pointing her finger towards her little dinette table: Can’t you see him, it is my husband, he is sitting at the table. He is waiting for me.”
I could not see Vivian’s husband, yet I could feel a presence. The atmosphere had changed; it felt almost like it had become electrically charged.
There was a deep sense of peace that flooded the room, and for the first time since I started caring for Vivian, I saw that peace on Vivian’s face.
For the next couple of days, Vivian didn’t struggle with swallowing or breathing, and she even got up and walked. It was as if Vivian was healed.
I knew with Vivian seeing her husband waiting for her and her sudden appearance of being healed; her time was short. Two days later, Vivian’s health did take a turn for the worse.
Unfortunately, Vivian’s daughter, her only child, could no longer care for her mom at home. Vivian now required a different type of care and had to be moved to a nursing home where hospice also stepped in. Vivian transitioned two weeks later.
I know Vivian’s husband was there to help her transition from this life to the next. Vivian never lost her peace, and that brought comfort to Vivian’s daughter and her family.
I found this video where Dr. Kerr shares his experience in the field of death and dying.
Dr. Christopher W. Kerr is the Chief Medical Officer at The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, where he has worked since 1999.
His background in research has evolved from bench science towards the human experience of illness, as witnessed from the bedside, specifically patients’ dreams and visions at the end of life.
Although medically ignored, these near-universal experiences often provide comfort and meaning as well as insight into the life led and the death anticipated.
